Dress Design Collab: Fabric Shopping

As part two of our designer collab with designer Rebecca Elizabeth, we made our way to downtown Vancouver to find the perfect fabric for our dress. The fabric needed to be light enough for a summer dress and give the skirt the perfect amount of flounce. To keep it trendy, we went for a bright tangerine colour. With so much going on on the back of the dress, it's a good idea to keep the pattern simple.

Dressew has the most insane variety of fabrics in every pattern and colour you can imagine! Then, just when you think you've seen it all, you realize there is a whole other floor downstairs with every other sewing item you could possibly need. We ended a successful day with fabric, matching zipper, and a few other goodies in hand.

Next? Making the 'test run' or muslin dress in the next post.

Happy Styling! xo

  3. I remember when I was younger I visited several stores in my country pretty often because I loved to sew and I actually had the time to do it during school and at home as well. not anymore though and that's pretty sad.
anyway, I'm already looking forward to seeing some progress when it comes to your dress! :P
