Prismatic Tour: Covergirl's Katy Perry in Vancouver

Now THIS was an experience! You know you have those days? When you don't know what to wear? Well, what are you supposed to wear to a concert to meet Katy Perry? It was definitely a tough decision. I decided on a retro-inspired outfit with crop top and skirt, both in colourful hues (reminiscent of Katy's every changing hair colour).  Before the show began, we were whisked away to the backstage area, where a special backstage lounge had been set up for us: there, we waited, snapped some #instaGLAM selfies, before the arrival of Katy herself! The singer / Covergirl was so sweet, and she had the most amazing eye liner on, I left thinking "hey, I gotta try that silver sparkly liner when I get home!" (she is a Covergirl after all,  of course her make-up was impeccable).

The Prismatic show was a total blast; we danced along while wearing our Covergirl prismatic glasses (which actually made the show even more awesome), and watched a giant floating champagne bottle and Covergirl lipstick (among other objects) drift across the stadium over the audience's heads! Definitely one glam night to remember!

Sears Fall Preview 2014 Event

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to check out Sears' fall 2014 collection at the Rosewood Georgia Hotel in Vancouver. I've been hoping to one day see the inside of beautiful Rosewood hotel, so I was extra excited that the fall preview event was held there, complete with bubbly and macarons from the cafe downstairs, Bel Café. With fashionista buddies Rosalia of Style Love and Aurora of Style by Fire, we perused the trends for this fall, ogling at burgundy bags and cozy over coats!

I know everyone in Canada will hate me for saying this right now, but I'm actually OK it's fall! Being abnormally pale as I am, the hot summer took a toll this year, and I'm pretty excited by the thought of wearing cozy sweaters, thick scarves, and deep colours again. The Sears fall collection includes all kinds of goodies I can't wait for, like wrap coats, snakeskin and burgundy heels, camel-coloured bags, and the perfect chunky accessories to match. They definitely have my head spinning with outfit ideas already!

Until it fully cools off, though, I'm happy to get some wear out of my brights while I still can, like these hot pink trousers I picked up at the thrift store- amazing quality for a steal!!

Vancouver Fashion Week: Beauty Preview with Covergirl, Pantene & Olay

Vancouver Fashion Week kicked off last week with a special Beauty Preview for media, hosted by P&G's beauty brands Covergirl, Pantene & Olay. SALT Tasting room made for the perfect space to host the beauty chat, complete with tasty snacks and drinks. P&G Communications Manager Manon Lapierre happily introduced to the talents that would be the backstage beauty pros at Vancouver Fashion Week, Amélie DuCharme and Justin German. Amélie and Justin gave us the run-down on the trends we can expect to see for Spring/Summer 2015.

Not surprising, pastel pinks will be a big part of makeup looks for SS2015, but we can also expect to see eyes with a purple haze as well. Ducharme recommends using Covergirl Bombshell Shineshadows for a soft, pastel effect. For lips, her go-to is Covergirl Lip Perfection lipsticks, which just happen to be my favourite too! I've been in love with Euphoria and Divine since last season, so I'm looking forward to giving their lighter shades a try for spring. They really are long lasting, which is always one of my main criteria!

I was more than excited to hear that the 'silver screen' look, featuring old-school glamour waves will be back in full force for spring/summer 2015. And for the more everyday hairstyle, German showed us some loose braids with a slightly 'undone' look that are easy enough to recreate. One of the most interesting new trends? Mousse is back! The previously 90's trend is the perfect tool for adding some sheen to your look, especially if you want to give the appearance of wet, sleek hair. Pantene's Pro-V Stylers Mousse is the one item you should be adding to your hair routine for spring!

You can find all the products used to create the looks on the runway at Vancouver Fashion Week last week at London Drugs!

Look of the Week: Provençal Style

One day I hope to have a lovely little home in the South of France, among the fields of lavender, but until then, I`ll take to doing little road trips out to Tuscan Farm Gardens in Abbotsford! The place is beyond adorable, with a cute little shop featuring lavender-infused goods, including yummy scones, ice cream, and even lavender lemonade (I'm a little obsessed with lavender)! It was a perfect afternoon in the country that made for some great photos among their fabulous gardens.

We all know the midi skirt and midi dress are hot items this year, so (finally) I've been able to bring this gorgeous dress out of storage and give it the love it deserves. My nana brought it back from a trip to Mexico years ago, and I had to do a few crude alterations to make the waist more fitted, but I really love the style. Midi-length dresses look fabulous with a good pair of platform heels (I get my inspiration from designer Ulyana Sergeenko). Give it a try!
