Blogger Lunch: Urban Tea Merchant

If there's one not-so-guilty pleasure I have, it's high tea. I'm always on the lookout for a new place to try, so naturally I was all in when these lovely ladies wanted to try out the Flamingo Tea Service at Urban Tea Merchant! Bloggers Jayne of Cosmetic Proof, Whitney of Macarons and Mischief, and Bailey of AKA Bailey were fabulous company for an afternoon of signature cocktails, divine tea, and delectable treats à la Urban Tea Merchant. I absolutely loved that their cosmopolitan cocktail and sweets were infused with their pink flamingo tea! If you're looking for a real gourmet high tea selection, I highly recommend checking it out.

So what does one wear for such a fashionable occasion? Why, lots of colour of course, and a big statement necklace to match! I came across the bejewelled piece you see below while at the Richmond Night Market a few weeks ago: I was literally jumping up and down with delight trying to decide which necklace to pick! If you haven't checked out Nobis and Grey's jewelry booth at the night market, make sure it's on your must-see list the next time you're there. I'm already eyeing this gorgeous piece...

NYX Face Awards: Vote for Your Favourite!

NYX is one of those cosmetics brands I grew up with; walking home from school with my girlfriends, we'd stop by the local drugstore and oogle at all the pretty palettes, and - far too often - find a colour we just had to have! Once upon a time, I was all about the amazing array of colours (and really, still am), but now I'm even more amazed by the variety of products. From setting sprays to face primers, NYX has it all. I was even more amazed at the recent London Drugs Beauty event, where I got to try out their newest lipsticks, glosses, liners and eye palettes.

NYX Angel Veil primer                     NYX lip primer                                       NYX Two Timer Eye Liner                    NYX BB Cream

Some of my favourite NYX products from the London Drugs Beauty Event

Showcasing some of the coolest stuff that can be done with NYX products, beauty vloggers are competing for the title of Beauty Vlogger of the Year  as part of the 3rd Annual NYX FACE Awards. Inspired by the booming community of beauty vloggers on Youtube, NYX launched the FACE Awards to support and give recognition to these very talented beauty stars, acknowleding and rewarding them for their passion and creativity.

If you're looking for some really cool beauty inspiration, and want to help support these talented digital influencers, you should definitely check out the NYX FACE Awards contest page. You can help decide which entrants will make it to the final round by voting for your favourite between July 21st and July 27th!

The finalists will be flown to Los Angeles, CA to put together a professional look that will be judged by a panel of judges at the NYX FACE Awards Event on August 22nd. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $25,000 prize, consultations with pro make-up artists, (gasp) a year's supply of NYX Cosmetics and the opportunity to build a promising career in the make-up industry!

London Drugs Beauty Event

Who doesn't dream of being whisked away by helicopter to a hangar filled to the brim with all the latest beauty products and the experts to help you get the most out of them (oh and the cocktails don't hurt either!)?

This is the first year I've attended the annual London Drugs Beauty Event, and I couldn't have been more blown away! Not only did I walk away in my leopard high heels with a bag full of products to try out, but the beauty experts of each brand shared the most helpful tips and advice on how to get the most out of each product. My biggest takeaways from the night? Revlon Gel Envy nail polish is my new best friend (that stuff really lasts!), Prestige cosmetics have the most amazingly pigmented Total Intensity eye shadows I've ever seen, and Chella is now my go-to brand for brows. London Drugs is now officially my hot spot for everything beauty!

You'll find out more about the individual beauty products as I try them out with my weekly outfit posts, so stay tuned!

Not only the most glamorous presentation, but also the most glamorous accessories. c.A.K.e jewellery is exclusive to London Drugs in Canada!

This pale pale gal may finally try a faux glow! I've been promised by the lovely people at St. Tropez that their tanning mousse will do the trick flawlessly (I'll tell you when I have the results!)

Prestige cosmetics is a new brand to me, and I couldn't possibly be more in love! Never have I seen such pigmented eyeshadows before! Highly highly recommend picking some up from London Drugs!
