Fashionista Gift Guide

Alright, hands up: who still has most of their Christmas shopping to do? Well, you're not alone. I still have a few gifts to find too. And we're running out of time!! If you have some fashionistas on your list, here are some chic gift ideas that might just fit the bill. Check out the Fashionista's Gift Guide here, and keep reading below for another fashionable gift idea that's also super thoughtful (and even romantic!).

Now, this gift idea I just had to share with you in a bit more detail. Vancouver-based jewellery design company, Everly, makes beautiful pieces customized with a heartbeat! Picture the heartbeat waves on an ECG, but recorded via your phone and engraved onto a necklace, pendant, ring or bracelet. As a hopeless romantic, I think engraving someone's heartbeat onto a piece that you wear every day is such a brilliant and thoughtful gift idea! You can also engrave something on the opposite side of the piece too.

Everly let me take their amazing tech-based jewellery for a spin, and I decided to try it out by making a necklace with the BF's heartbeat (did I mention I'm a hopeless romantic?). It was super easy to do in a matter of minutes using their app - I chose my design (the gold fill on sterling silver chain you see below), placed the BF's finger on my phone's camera to record his heartbeat via the app, cropped and edited the placement of the heartbeat wave on the necklace, and then added an engraving on the back - our initials. I was so excited when it arrived in the mail! It's beautiful, and is going to be such a special piece in my wardrobe now.

Even if you already have all your Christmas gifts covered, this is an idea worth keeping in mind for Valentine's Day gifts, Anniversary gifts, or pretty much any other occasion. I think it would also make a really sweet gift for a mom or dad - with her child's heartbeat on it!

PS. If this necklace stole your heart like it did mine, head over to my Instagram today for a giveaway!!

Holiday Gift Guide for the Budding Beauty Lover

I remember my early makeup days: I always loved beauty kits with lots of different colours and textures to play with. It's an exciting time, experimenting with different looks, finding what works best for you. That being said, I wish I knew about these makeup kits when I was first starting to play with makeup!

Now that the holidays are just around the corner, I've teamed up with London Drugs to share with you my top picks from Beauty 101 and Beauty Scene that I think would make the perfect Christmas gifts for the beginner beauty buff on your shopping list. You can watch the video below to check them all out: you'll need to see it to believe how much makeup they've packed into these kits!! It's crazy!

Holiday Preview with Chapters Indigo

Summer hasn't even finished yet, but now I'm all excited for the holidays thanks to Chapters Indigo! Their annual holiday preview, which happens in August, always reminds me why I love winter so much: cozy scarves and pillows, plaid decor, eggnog everything...all good things! I always end up finding some exciting gift ideas, but let's be honest, most of it caught my own eye.

You'll be seeing lots of these items in my holiday gift guides much closer to Christmas, so consider this your sneak peek!

Chapters Indigo always has a fabulous selection of style items, from super soft scarves, to embellishes hats. I have a toque that is very similar to the one you see below and received tons of compliments on it - I'm happy to see now there's one I can direct people towards when they're looking for a similar one! It's such a great winter statement piece.

These children's gifts are the sweetest! I'm always a sucker for buffalo plaid, and those little baby booties on the far right look just adorable. I wish they came in my size too!

I'm always all about the cocktails during the holiday season, so these piqued my interest right away! I'm already excited for mulled wine and cider now...and these syrups are definitely going to have a home on my bar cart for entertaining.

Guys are always so tough to shop for, but I always end up finding something at Chapters. I spotted this shoe shine kit and a few other gift ideas - all in the ultra-Canadian buffalo plaid.

The kitchen and dining section of Chapters is always my favourite. I drink tea non-stop, especially in the winter, so I'm always on the hunt for cute new mugs and new teas to try. I don't think I can stress enough how excited I am to try their 'Yule Fuel': an eggnog black tea! Plus, these teas and mug sets will make great gifts.

This is such a cool product! The Corkcicle canteen keeps a drink cold for up to 25 hours, or hot for up to 12. Sounds like the perfect addition for a wintery adventure with some hot chocolate and Baileys in tow!

I've seen Chapters' Cocktail Kits for gin & tonics before, but I am very happy to see they now have a champagne cocktail kit with elderflower syrup! I kind of really want to splurge on one of these for my upcoming travel abroad... They also would make sure a super cute small gift for friends.

Treat Yourself Gift Guide

I'm definitely guilty of shopping for myself a little while also shopping for Christmas gifts for others...are you too? Please tell me I'm not the only one! It's probably because I thrift shop most of the year, so when I suddenly find myself in the mall for once, I have a tendency to get sidetracked by all the new goodies.

So I figured I'd have some fun with the idea this year and create a 'Treat Yourself' gift guide for the holidays! I was recently introduced to the online shopping site Spring, and happily got lost for hours in the amazing assortment of unique gift ideas: makeup, skincare, candles, clothing, accessories, and plenty more. My favourite of them all has to be the You Had Me at Merlot sweater - who doesn't need this in their life?? What would be on your 'Treat Yourself' wishlist?

Holiday Gift Guide: Fashionable Gifts for Her

I feel like this is the first time I have ever gotten myself organized and planning for Christmas this early! Usually, I figure the beginning of December is early enough, but then before I know it, I'm racing around trying to get gifts for those people I just can't find something for. But this year, I have finally learned how to do it right, and it starts with a trip to Chapters!

I've actually notice I always end up at Chapters any time I'm searching for a gift for someone. I'm not the biggest book worm (ok, not really at all), but I could spend hours scouring all the fashion, décor, kitchen goods, and stationary...and I always seem to find the perfect little gift for whoever I'm looking for. So I'm planning on it being one-stop-shop for Christmas gifts this year. This is my first gift guide of the season, specifically for the fashionable woman in your life (or even just something for yourself). Stay tuned, and I'll have a men's and kid's gift guides coming soon too!

Hope this helps you cross a few off you list...
