Chapters Indigo Christmas in August Preview

I had just started to wrap my head around the fact that fall is around the corner...and now Chapters has me looking forward to Christmas already!

Chapters Indigo hosted their Christmas preview last week, giving us a sneak peek at all the plaid and gilded goodies we can expect to see in stores closer to the holiday season. All set up in the penthouse suite of the Loden Hotel in Vancouver, Chapters turned it into a winter wonderland (even in the crazy summer heat we're feeling). 

I had a feeling their gilded cocktail glasses would make a comeback year, and they didn't disappoint! They'll make the perfect addition to any chic bar cart and will be perfect for entertaining during the holiday season. Speaking of entertaining, they're launching the sweetest collection of tea pots and tea mugs, perfect for cozying up with tea with friends, or to take on the go. This tea lover is going to have a very long wishlist!

The food/drink section of Chapters has always been a favourite of mine, and from what we saw, this season will bring some fun new favourites that I'll just have to try. Bacon caramels and eggnog pancake mix, yes please!

And then of course, there's the winter fashion collection...and I can't get enough of it! There's a set of beautiful super soft plaid scarves that I am now obsessing over, and a camel wrap cape that would be oh-so-chic over cozy winter sweaters. Plus, the matching socks and hot water bottle covers are just way too cute.

Some of these products will be in Chapters Indigo stores as soon as October 5th, so keep your eyes peeled!

These gilded glasses are the perfect addition to any holiday party...and a must-have for my bar cart!

Fall 2015 Fashion Inspiration

I came to a bit of a sad revelation while browsing Pinterest the other day... I realized I had subconsciously started to pin fall clothes to my Fall/Winter Inspiration board. Is it really that time of year already??

It's funny, because I used to be 100% a summer fashion gal, but over the last few years, I've changed my tune, and have now come to love the layers, chunky knits and cozy scarves that come with fall weather. Below, I've collected some of my favourite fall outfit inspiration that I will definitely be drawing from when shopping for fall fashions and switching over my closet from summer to fall/winter.

Must-haves on my list for fall are suede booties, more blanket scarves (you can never have enough!), waterproof boots, and a camel coat. Ok, really, I'm dreaming of everything on the inspiration board below... What's on your wishlist?

Look of the Week: Coloured Jeans

Did I mention my favorite colour is red? I actually own two pairs of red pants: the ones you see here, as well as a pair from Zara. These are the less bright of the two, if you can believe it!

I chose to head down Water Street in Gastown this past Friday to take some pictures along the cobblestone walkways. Gastown is a great historic area of Vancouver, and it boasts all kinds of great places to eat and shop. Plus if you take a peek between the old brick buildings to the north, you can see a breathtaking view of the snow capped mountains.

The hat I'm wearing here is actually my grandfather's. I love the tweed fabric, and the red feather is the perfect touch. You can find all kinds of classic accessories by looking through your grandparents' old things. You've already seen another one of such finds: my red beret, which was given to me by my Nana. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's out of style!

Sometimes its hard to dress stylish while still keeping warm this time of year. My advice: layer! It's easy to slip into the routine of always throwing on my warm pea coat, but I stayed just as warm in my look this week: all that's necessary is a few more pieces from your closet!
