Rainy Summer Outfit

Even though we've had a stellar summer so far, there have been a couple spotty days of rain lately that had given us the opportunity to wear something a little more spring-like again, and it's been a refreshing change!

I love the nautical style from combining this striped navy shift dress and orange drawstring jacket. Navy stripes look great with a nice bright pop of colour like red, yellow, pink or orange. And of course, lots of gold accessories! I will always love my heels, but it's always nice to switch them out for some cute and comfy sneakers (especially these Converse Fancy's, which are my absolute favourite!).

I also plan to get as much wear out of my bright lipsticks during the summer months as I can, so I whipped out my Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Tulip: a beautiful shade of orange that matches nicely with my favourite nail polish of the season, Essie's Sunday Funday nail lacquer.

Jacket - H&M | Dress - The Gap (thrifted via Value Village) | Shoes - Converse All Star Fancy (similar) | Necklace - Nobis & Grey | Bracelets - c/o Nobis & Grey: XII Bangle & IIX Bangle | Rings - Hart + Stone: Twisted Stacking Ring & Hammered Stacking Ring  | Purse - my mom's!

Look of the Week & DIY skirt: Spring Pastels

While it still feels pretty chilly around here, spring colours are starting to appear all over the shops and blogs nowadays! So here's some spring inspiration: pastel hues! To make the transition from winter to spring a bit easier, mix those great spring colours with some thicker tights and some 3/4 length sleeves. I threw on a cozy, loose-fitting sweater on later when it got too cold while studying.

The skirt you see here is actually a DIY project (2 in one week?!?). It's an old skirt that belonged to my Nana, which she gave to me to work into my wardrobe. It used to be MUCH longer than this...I took some liberties with the hemline. Then I took some of the extra fabric and made it into the bow you now see on the front! The skirt already had a really sweet back to it; it has cute buttons all the way down. And no, believe me, I checked to make sure I didn't have it on backwards!

I think I was feeling very girly today...hence the bows. The bow in my hair is from when I was like 5. I think I like it even better now

Happy Styling!
