Look of the Week: Tough Leather

So this past week was the last week of the Vancouver International Film Festival, and I had a chance to get out and see one of the films playing before it wrapped up for this year. I had been a few years back when I was in one of the films being shown; I was so excited to go to a film premier, so I dressed up in my best. I was surprised to find the fashion style for the event was a little more, erm, casual that I had anticipated. So this time I thought I'd go for a more tough/artsy look. This is much outside my comfort zone, but it was fun to try something new!

Patterned tights are a great way to make an outfit more interesting; I get so bored of plain tights after awhile. They aren't necessarily the warmest things, though, so in another month I'll have to layer them up with some over the knee socks and tall boots. If you're ever in need of something warm on your head, or just want to add a little more class to an outfit, you can never go wrong with throwing on a beret! I have a few in various colours and I love them all. The one I'm wearing here is actually my Nana's from Montreal...and if it works for Montreal winters, it will sure work here!
