Well, exams are over, and Christmas is almost here! And that means it's time to cozy up in your favourite knits and enjoy some tea and Christmas shortbread. Thick knit sweaters keep you perfectly warm this time of year, and a nice bit of lace balances out the chunky-ness of the sweater to create a cute and cozy look. I have even switched out my regular tights for these thicker ones from Ardene, so I won't sacrifice any warmth by wearing a skirt.
This look would be just as cute with a pair of tall grey rain boots (of which I don't own; I don't know how I've survived in Vancouver rain so long without any). And of course if it's snowing where you are (lucky!) then some earmuffs or a cute toque would be adorable!
If you're curious how I made the shortbread you see in pictures, it's whipped shortbread with maraschino cherrie bits on top. All it is is flour, butter and icing sugar, and you just whip the hell out of it! They're very soft and crumbly, and they are a Christmas baking staple for me!
