Vancouver Fashion Week: Opening Gala

Well, the Vancouver Fashion Week SS2013 Season has started off with a bang! Vancouver VIPs, socialites, fashionistas and media all lined up last night outside 560 Nightclub in Vancouver to get a sneekpeak at some of the designer's creations and celebrate the beginning of VFW.

I chose to wear a dress I thrifted just this past week (details to come on the next Thrifty Thursday). Baroque is hot this season, so I thought this dress would fit well; the black and gold is luxurious and easy to style. I made the look a little tougher by adding a leather jacket and giving it a pop of colour with my Zara heels. Deep red 'Ox Blood' makeup is also a popular hue of choice this season, so I switched out my usual bright red for this darker shade.

Our VFW correspondent team spotted some fashionable Vancouverites to interview for our Fashion Week youtube channel...of course we filmed right in between a Ferrari and a Rolls Royce. Because we could. Living the life, hey?

Inside 560, UK singer ChloƩ Morgan was on the stage giving an amazingly soulful performance. The girl looked killer; her eyes were glittering, she had tough spikes on her wrists, and her dress was so unique. As we mingled and sipped our cocktails, models wearing the featured designers' creations wandered the floor, allowing anyone to photograph them. It was a great experience and a good way to get up close to the designs and see all the small details.

All my lovely stylish ladies who came to join me for the event!

Me and the amazingly talented Katrina of the VFW team!
