Festival Makeup: Bold Blue & Orange

Music festivals are all about enjoying good music, in good company...while wearing some seriously awesome outfits and rocking some equally awesome makeup! I must admit, I like bold makeup, and I've been known to wear it in public more often than most, but I realize not everyone feels comfortable with doing that. But a music festival definitely feels like the right time to let your inhibitions go and try those crazy makeup looks you're normally too shy to try at home! Why not?

So here's my festival makeup look, created with some fabulous products from Teeez Cosmetics - an amazing brand that I have fallen in love with in the past number of months. And as it turns out, they have some incredible high-pigment products that are exactly what I was hoping for to create this look. You know I'm a cat-eye kind of girl, so I didn't stray entirely from that, but decided to take it a step further and extend the eyeliner into the inner corner of my eyes, and down around the lower lash line. Definitely more dramatic than my usual look. And while I usually stick to the rule of only one bold product on my face (a choice between eyes or lips), for a festival look I figured what the hell, let's go all-out-bold with my pout too! Teeez Cosmetics Sealed With a Kiss LipDuo in Vintage Orange

I love a good lip duo. The option to be able to switch between matte and glossy is always welcomed. Usually I'm more of a matte lipstick girl, but on occasion it's nice to have the option to switch it up! The colour pay-off on this Sealed With a Kiss LipDuo in Vintage Orange, for both the lipstick and lip lacquer, is fantastic. If you read my beauty post from 2 weeks ago, you know that I love orange lipsticks for summer beauty, and the colour and vibrancy of this one makes it a new favourite. In the photos above, I'm only wearing the lipstick end, but the lip lacquer adds a nice shine should you choose to apply it over top. Not sure you can rock this shade any day? Festival season sure is the right time to rock it!

Teeez Cosmetics Cloud Nine Eyeliner in Electric Aqua

You know when you try on some makeup product on for the first time, and you're actually floored by how fantastic it is? This is one of those products. Teeez' claim of intense colour pay-off is not kidding around, this stuff is insane! The liquid eyeliner applies beautifully smooth, and the Electric Aqua hue is so bold and stunning. I think the final look photos above really say it all. This stuff stays on like no other either - using my micellar solution, it definitely took some work to get off, which while some might be concerned, I see it as a sign that this liner won't smudge or come off all day/night! Exactly what you want with back-to-back festival shows.

Festival season is a great time to play around with your makeup application and try something new. While you know I usually go with a liquid liner cat-eye, I thought I'd have a little more fun with this and extend the cat-eye to my inner corner and below the eye. It's definitely a bold look, but for festival season, why not?

Teeez Cosmetics Bulletproof Curl Mascara in Jet Black

This restorative formula was made to give you fuller and stronger lashes. Who doesn't want that? It's a bit too early to say if I have stronger lashes, but the brush and the formula definitely deliver fuller lashes! I'm not usually a bit fan of thin, short spiny bristle-brushes - I usually go for the bushier brushes - but I must say I'm impressed with how this one performs. It's especially good for keeping out the clumps.

If you're looking for a mascara that will last during festival season, this formula is particularly well-suited. It's made to protect your lashes against high humidity, and is water resistant. Good for long days in the sweltering sun!

Spring Makeup Look

I love a sweet, pretty makeup look for Spring!  You guys have been hearing about Teeez Cosmetics quite a bit here on Vancouver Vogue lately, and well, I'm sharing another makeup look with them today because they are 100% my favourite new makeup brand. And let me tell you, for Spring, they're stuff is right on the money.

This look is inspired by the barely-there, yet oh-so-chic beauty looks previewed on the runways in New York and Paris. Now, I'm wearing my usual cat-eye liner here for a little bit of a bolder edge, but I think this makeup look would also be fantastic with a light eye look (just mascara). Read My Lips Lipstick in Cool Cerise

The colour of this lipstick is out of this world gorgeous! Like, it's actually in my top 5 favourite lipstick colours of all time now. It's such a pretty pastel shade - isn't that perfect for Spring?? It's a creamy soft matte textured lipstick that lasts nicely through the day. I wore it through a light dinner too, and it actually stayed on very well. This one is going to be on heavy rotation this season for sure.

Spoiled Rich Eyebrow Cream in Blonde Edge

My usual brow routine consists of a lot of products and steps: first brow pencil, second brow powder, then highlight under the brow and finally tinted brow gel. But for a more barely-there makeup look, this eyebrow cream is perfect. In one step, you can colour, fill and fix your brows! It's certainly not as polished looking, but I think that's part of the point. The beyond perfectly shaped brows are on the out. Now, a more natural, filled in brow is reigning.

Soft as Sin Cream Blush in Flirty Pink

As I mentioned in this recent post, cream blushes are a favourite of mine. Especially for Spring and Summer, I think they give a beautiful, natural-looking flush to the cheeks. When we're creating a subtle yet sweet makeup look like we are here, a cream blush like this is perfect! It's funny - this formula doesn't look like a cream when you're looking at it, but as soon as you glide your finger across, the creamy pigment becomes apparent. Isn't this flushed pink hue lovely? Tip: start with a little bit on your index finger and dab along your cheekbones, and up towards your temples. Then go ahead and blend!

And voilà! A super easy makeup look that's minimal but perfectly chic for Spring.

Teeez Cosmetics: Trendy Lipsticks I LOVE

Looking at my lipstick stand (because yes, I have a lipstick stand, and it's overflowing), I realize I have a slight lipstick obsession. It's such an easy way to boost my mood with a little colour. Matte lipsticks have been one of my all time favourite styles for years now, but as wonderful as they are, I must say, it's been refreshing to see glosses and creamier lipsticks start to take over the beauty scene once again after years of hiatus.

I first introduced you to Teeez Cosmetics a couple of weeks ago, when I tried a few of their newest launches, including highlighter, eyeshadow and eyeliner. Eve's Ready to Wear Lipstick in Awesome Orchid

Oh, I've been waiting for a lipstick like this for a long time! Especially lately, when my lips have been far more dry than usual (thanks, winter), an ultra moisturizing lipstick is very much welcomed. It has quite a nice subtle shine to it too, which is a nice change of pace after years of just my matte lipsticks - not that I'm knocking them! Keep an eye out for this one in future Instagram posts, as I think it's going to get lots of face time as Spring comes around. Such a sweet pink shade!

Material Girl Lipstick in Tainted Love

THIS lipstick is for the true fashionista. The packaging alone is something you want to Instagram, and you certainly don't mind pulling out of your purse. I can go on and on about the packaging of Teeez Cosmetics products in general, but this lipstick specifically is fantastic! Sure, the square shape may not be super practical, but I couldn't care less: it's a statement piece, and the rose gold detailing is the perfect added detail. Now, the actual lipstick itself is a beautiful bold shade. It's a deep vintage red, and the formula is smooth, thick and oh SO creamy. I love my matte lipsticks, but this hydrating lipstick definitely gives my lips a whole lot more TLC. It feels great on my lips!

I always get giddy at the prospect of discovering a new makeup brand. Well, OK I didn't discover this one all on my own - Teeez Cosmetics was kind enough to reach out to me and introduce themselves, but I'm so glad they did, but I am totally hooked on this stuff now! After all, a fashion-forward makeup brand is right up my alley.

The packaging alone had me sold. They sent me three products to test out: their Style Addict Highlighter, Spectrum of Stars Eyeshadow, and Mysterious Crystal Liner. Style Addict Highlighter in Smooth Copper (Fashion Vendetta Collection)

I went straight for the highlighter first - my curiosity was already piqued by the packaging, and when I lifted the lid, I was beyond excited. It looked like molten bronze, in a beautiful whipped formula! Gorgeous! I was a little worried that the colour would be too dark for me as a highlighter, but if I'm not too liberal with it, and blend well into the skin, it gives me a gorgeous sun-kissed glow! This one is definitely going to get a lot of use in the summer especially.

Spectrum of Stars Eyeshadow in Vanilla Sunbeam (Sugar Rush Collection)

Were you a huge fan of the EOS lip balms when they were everywhere? Then you're probably going to love the packaging of these little eyeshadow babies! Inside this shiny gold egg, you'll find the double or triple changeant eyeshadow shade that's enriched with Moroccan argan oil. The Vanilla Sunbeam shade is a beautiful light gold colour with a nice rich texture.

Mysterious Crystal Liner in Rich Amber (Desert Glow Collection)

This liner is 100% a worthwhile investment for your everyday makeup routine. It has just the hint of a shimmer, and when I say this formula is smudge-proof, I am not kidding! It takes a bit of work to take off with makeup remover, which means you know it's going to stay put on your eyes all day. The liner dries in 45 seconds too, for those of you with no patience (hey that's me too!). Plus, on the other end of the liner, there's even a little smudger and a sharpener. You better be quick if you want to use the smudger though, because of the aforementioned quick drying time!
