FNO: Fashion Night Out Vancouver

I hope all you fashionable Vancouverites shopped til you dropped in downtown Vancouver on the 6th! It was the first time Fashion's Night Out has been hosted in our city, and it definitely proved why we should be a part of it!

Fashion's Night Out is all about fashion, so it would only be fitting to go a bit over and above what one would usually wear. I chose to mix some summer and fall pieces, wearing a dip-dyed mint maxi skirt from the Richmond Night Market and a tuxedo blazer from BCBG. I chose a deep red lipstick; a colour we will be seeing LOTS of this season (I just picked up a nail polish from Revlon in the same shade).

We unforunately missed the fashion show at CBC Studio 40 (thanks, SFU) but we raced downtown to get in on the post-show shopping events. Robson and Alberni had a variety of stores boasting appies and drinks, as well as special shopping deals exclusively for Fashion's Night Out. We made a bee-line for The Urban Tea Merchant (one can never have enough tea) and were overjoyed to be greeted with delightful staff offering us tea-infused champagne with blueberries, accompanied by decorated chocolate-dipped strawberries. They are also now offering an Haute Couture Tea Service in honour of FNO...that is something I will definitely be going back for!

Next, we perused the clothing and accessories of JennyFleur Loves' Haute Wheels truck, then onto a pop-up jewelry display. Along Robson, stores including J Crew, Banana Republic, Bebe, GAP, Miss Sixty and many many others served appies and drinks and had DJ's mixing tunes to get shoppers in the mood. It has always been a dream of mine to sip champagne and peruse rows and rows of clothing, while dressed to impress. I want to shop like this all the time!

To finish off the evening, we made a stop by my favourite french shop: Thierry. I adore their macarons and declare them the best in the city. In the spirit of Fashion's Night Out, chef Thierry created a special macaron flavour for the evening: Amaretto and cherry. I was very tempted to try it, but I could not resist having my two favourites mint and earl grey. And what should a girl drink with such dainty dessserts? Why, sparkling wine, of course!

Yummm....mint macarons <3

I hope you all enjoyed the festivities, Vancouver! Where did you stop by on FNO?

Happy Styling!
